In the history of Bollywood, ever since the creation of Rs. 100 Crore Club, there were only 8 films that managed to do the business of over Rs. 300 crores. When Pathaan releases a week back then not just did it become the ninth such triple century maker but also the fastest ever. Well, on its seventh day, it has set another huge record. The Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham starrer is now also the fifth biggest Bollywood grosser ever and that too in a matter of just one week – an unimaginable feat indeed.
This is how the lifetime score of the biggest Bollywood grossers ever looks like:
Dangal – Rs. 387.38 crores
Sanju – Rs. 342.53 crores
PK – Rs. 340.80 crores
Tiger Zinda Hai – Rs. 339.25 crores
Pathaan – Rs. 328 crores* (7 days)
Bajrangi Bhaijaan – Rs. 321 crores
War – Rs. 318 crores
Padmaavat – Rs. 302.15 crores
Sultan – Rs. 301.50 crores
As can be seen, Pathaan has now also gone past the lifetime numbers of War and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, hence finding itself firmly placed at the fifth position amongst the top biggies till date. This was made possible after a tremendous Tuesday which saw over Rs. 20 crores come in all over again, what with Rs. 20.75 crores* been accumulated at the box office. This is yet another terrific hold for the film after Monday had brought in Rs. 26.50 crores.
Today, the film will have further records to its name as the lifetime numbers of Sanju, PK and Tiger Zinda Hai would be history as well. That would leave it with Dangal to contend with and it won’t take much time before the crown of highest grossing Bollywood film will firmly find a place atop the head of none other than King Khan Shah Rukh Khan himself.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
