Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan went on overdrive on Saturday as collections went up by nearly 70% on its second day. According to early estimates, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan has collected in the range of Rs. 24 cr. to 26 cr. on its second day. The two-day total of this mass entertainer stands at Rs. 40 crores.
The jump has come across the board, as multiplex chains went up by 70% whereas the growth in the single screen was even higher with some centers showing 300 to 400 percent growth. The Saturday collections indicate that Eid + Salman Khan is a deadly combo, which doesn’t need any sort of external factors to drive the audience to the cinema halls.
The three chains have collected in the Rs. 9.5 crore range and their contribution for a film as massy as Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is merely 37%. The single screens which never really got an audience in post-pandemic times are recording houseful shows for Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and this is primarily due to the Salman Khan factor.
The numbers may look low, but KBKJ isn’t a tentpole event film, and for a mid-budget film to do this number in post-pandemic time is a great achievement. The weekend of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan will be in the Rs. 65 crores range, depending on where Sunday lands.
