Last week on Friday we saw the release of the Salman Khan starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Directed by Farhad Samji the film which also featured south star Venkatesh, Pooja Hegde, and an ensemble cast met with mixed responses from the critics and media. However, despite this the business of the film which released across over 4500 screens has seen a positive trend. After opening on a steady note of Rs. 15.81 cr, the collections of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan saw further growth on its first Saturday and Sunday respectively with Rs. 25.75 cr, and Rs. 26.61 cr coming in.
In this box office report, we look at the opening weekend collections of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan while comparing the same to Salman Khan’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 68.17 cr, the film has emerged as Salman’s eleventh all-time highest opening weekend grosser. Not surprisingly, the film despite featuring a wide release does not manage to out beat Salman’s previous releases like Sultan which collected Rs. 180.36 cr, Bharat which collected Rs. 150.10 cr, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo which collected Rs. 129.77 cr. Tiger Zinda Hai which collected Rs. 114.93 cr, and a few others as well. However, the business of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan has managed to overshadow Salman’s other releases like Dabangg 2 which collected Rs. 65 cr, Tubelight which collected Rs. 64.77 cr etc.
Currently, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan remains as the audiences’ first choice in theatres. in fact, with the film seeing an increase in footfalls in mass dominated sectors, trade predictions state that the business of the film is sure to see an increase .
