Kangana Ranaut is always in the news, be it for her films or blunt statements on social media. Since recent times, she has grabbed the headlines more for the latter. In a recent post, she has compared herself with the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar by highlighting a similar trait she shares with her.
Kangana Ranaut compares herself to Lata Mangeshkar, “Even I denied performing at weddings”
In one of her Instagram stories, Kangana shared a video of another celebrated singer Asha Bhosle speaking about her sister Lata Mangeshkar’s quality in a reality show. Bhosle is heard saying that Mangeshkar never performed at rich people’s weddings even when she was offered a large amount.
Bhosle says in the video, “She was offered one million dollars to sing in a wedding. They asked her to just show herself for two hours in front of these big people.”
Responding to the video, Kangana wrote in her story, “Agree. Even I have denied weddings or private parties, even though I have the most popular songs. Denied insane amount of money. Glad to come across the video. Lata ji, truly so inspiring.”
On the work front, Kangana was seen in the action drama Dhaakad this year. The film turned out to be a disaster at the box office. She was also seen in the reality show Lock Upp. She has Emergency currently in the making. The film is based on the Emergency of the 1975 imposed in India. Apart from playing the character of India’s former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Kangana will also be directing the film.
