In many ways, the film is what exactly you expect in the trailer. Devara manages to dish up more action.From action to drama to romance and even exotic locations in songs. However, a tighter writing in the second half could have made the film more engaging.
And as expected, Janhvi Kapoor makes a glamorous entry in the second half. She has limited screen time though.

Overall, the film suffers from a lack of originality and freshness in its characters and narrative. Comparatively, this film is slightly better than Acharya in terms of content, though on the flip side Acharya at least had good songs. The songs in Devara are a major disappointment. It may only appeal to those who can endure an emotionless action drama. The impact of the film focuses more on fights and bloodshed than on other elements.

Devara first half is very good, while the second half is slow at times and pretty average with a twist in climax. NTR delivers a stellar performance in his dual role, and the film is substantially backed by Anirudh’s electrifying background score, Koratala’s powerful writing in first half, and the grand scale of the production. Overall, Devara is a feast for Fans and masses and a sure onetime watch for family audience.
