Popular actor, Arjun Bijlani‘s new year resolution is to quit smoking. In an interview, the Naagin 3 actor also revealed to whom he dedicated his new year’s resolution and how he managed to stay firm on his decision. For the unversed, Arjun tied the knot with his ladylove, Neha Swami on May 20, 2013, in a lavish wedding ceremony. And after living for quite some time in marital bliss, the couple was blessed with their baby boy on January 21, 2015, whom they lovingly named Ayaan. Since then, the family of three have been living a merry life, and glimpses of the same are found on their respective social media handles.

It was on January 4, 2023, when Arjun announced his new year resolution on his Twitter handle and revealed that things were going quite well. Now, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Arjun opened up about the same and mentioned that he had decided to do this for his 8-year-old son, Ayaan. Elaborating more on this, he added that he wants to set an excellent example for Ayaan and said:
“This year, I thought I should quit smoking. It is not easy but I am trying my best. It’s been almost a week now that I haven’t smoked. Of course, it’s with the help of patches, but it’s a good start. I wanted to stop since a long time but it’s not easy. I decided to do this for my son as I want to set a good example. I have started the year with a positive note. I am feeling fresh and good that I am doing this.”

Arjun on how he manages to distract himself from the urge to smoke
In the same conversation, Arjun revealed that he has been smoking since he was 15, and he, who was an occasional drinker, has also stopped drinking as well. He mentioned that whenever the urge to smoke comes, he used to distract himself with other things and added:
“When I get the urge to smoke, I distract myself with other things. Even meditation has helped. Taking a clean break from smoking is the way to go as smoking does take a toll on your health. I am putting in the effort and this is just the beginning. I hope to cross the 28 day milestone as they say if you don’t smoke for 28 days at a stretch then you have quit. I’m going to definitely avoid places which might affect my resolve.”
When Khatron Ke Khiladi 11 winner, Arjun Bijlani dedicated his trophy to his five-year-old son, Ayaan
Earlier, on September 26, 2021, Arjun Bijlani was declared the winner of the 11th season of the stunt-based reality show, Khatron Ke Khiladi. For the same, he had won a cash prize of Rs. 20 lakhs and a Maruti Suzuki car. After his win, in an interview with PTI (Press Trust Of India), the Ishq Mein Marjawan actor had revealed that he dedicated his trophy to his then-five-year-old son, Ayaan. Going further in the interview, Arjun also stated that before coming on the show, Ayaan was the one who told him to bring the trophy home and had said:
“It feels great to have won the show. It was a long journey in Cape Town. When Rohit sir announced my name, I was extremely happy. I really wanted to win this one for Ayaan more than anything. He had told me that he wanted me to win the trophy. For a kid it’s a big thing.”

When Arjun Bijlani opened up on his decision of almost aborting his first child
In 2022, Arjun and his wife, Neha was also seen participating in the Star Plus’ reality show, Smart Jodi. In one of the show’s episodes, the couple had bared their hearts out to reveal their deepest secret when he had decided to abort his first child because of financial issues. In the same episode, an emotional Arjun was seen narrating the incident from his first year of marriage. It was then when Neha got pregnant, but he had no work, and due to his low bank balance, he was not in a position to take responsibility for a child then. So, Arjun had made up his mind and tried convincing his wife, Neha, to abort the child. Arjun shared that she cried a lot but agreed in the end. He had shared:
“Humari shaadi jab hui, 1 saal hi hua tha jab humein pata chala ki she’s pregnant. Wo 1-1.5 saal hai na main kaam nahi kar raha tha us time par. To obviously bachche ki ek bahut badi responsibility hoti hai, to hum us cheez ko aage nahi le jate. Fir ye maani-royi, merko bhi ajeeb ho raha tha but finally maine soch liya tha kyunki mere account mein us time Rs 40,000-50,000 bache the, main kya hi bachcha karta yaar. Hum pahuche hospital ki hum nahi karenge use.”
