Abhishek Banerjee has been roped in to play a pivotal role in Ribhu Dasgupta’s courtroom drama Section 84. Amitabh Bachchan and Diana Penty were already cast in the film earlier. Banerjee is delighted to share screen with his idol, Senior Bachchan.

Sharing the news and his reaction at getting a chance to work with Bachchan, Banerjee said in an Instagram post, “Section 84 is my moment of EKLAVYA meeting his DRONACHARYA .. for me when I knew nothing about acting. I knew only one name AMITABH BACCHAN, from a boy who used to be hypnotised by him to be actually getting an opportunity to stand alongside him in one frame, life truly has become a full circle for me with this film …. This is what dreams are made of, bacchan mania continues, this time I m going to be a part of it in front of camera!! Thank you thank you Ribhu sir you hv no idea how much my younger self is jumping with joy to be on your set and experience the mania. I think we all hv been struck by for years now!”
In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama last November, Abhishek had spoken about his fascination for Bachchan. He had said, “I’ve learned humour from him, I’ve learned action from him. I’ve learned intensity from him. And I still learn from him. Whenever I’m in doubt, I watch a Bachchan movie and I get motivated, and I go on sets and I try to do my best. He has been one of my biggest inspirations throughout my childhood, adulthood and acting career.”
Apart from this film, Abhishek will also be seen in Stree 2 and Dream Girl 2.
