Adarsh Gourav, star of The White Tiger, has said that filming for the science fiction series Extrapolations in the US was a dream trip. He also recalled strolling through the New York City streets with a cup of coffee in hand, visiting the famous Central Park, and simply drinking up life on the go. The actor hopes that the positive reviews of the movie and his current role in the Apple TV climate change series will help him find good roles in both India and the West.

Gourav told PTI, “The White Tiger really put me on the map. I feel like I am getting the best of both worlds. Best of what’s happening in India and what’s happening in the West. I am just hoping to capitalise and make the most of my opportunities right now because I want to be a citizen of the world. I want to be a global actor.”

Gourav recounted how the COVID-19 outbreak prevented him from supporting or participating in the awards campaign for The White Tiger. He said, “I attended Baftas from my living room and the Oscars from my living room.” He added, “I know in my gut that I will be travelling a lot with my work. It will happen.”

The White Tiger assisted him in getting the lead role in Extrapolations, a glittering series by Scott Z. Burns. Extrapolations contemplates what life might be like in the future if immediate action is not taken to address climate concerns.

Gourav remained at Bahrani’s residence after spending around 15 to 20 days filming in New York for Extrapolations, so he could tour the city, something he had been unable to do earlier because of the pandemic. He said “I lived with Ramin for 10 days, ate lots of good food. Went to museums, went to Central Park and all the other parks that were around Brooklyn. Williamsburg was my favourite place, (there were) lots of chilled out pubs, bars, thrift stores.”

He added, “Even if you are walking on the streets with just a cup of coffee, it is such a delightful place to be around. Like Mumbai is the melting pot of India, New York is the melting pot of the world in that sense… It is just fun to sit around on a park bench and look around.”

Recently the trailer of Extrapolations, by Scott Z. Burns was out. The show, which is a climate crisis drama is out on Apple+TV. It is a star-studded one with some of the top names in Hollywood that includes Meryl Streep, Kit Harington, Edward Norton, Tobey Maguire and others. Extrapolations premiered with the first three episodes on Friday, March 17. This has been followed by new episodes weekly, every Friday through April 21.
