Star Plus’ show Anupama has always received a lot of love from fans and now a lot of them are discontent with the discord between their favourite onscreen couple, Anupama (Rupali Ganguly) and Anuj (Gaurav Khanna). In the recently aired promo, it can be seen that Anupama decides to moves to the US as she signs a three-year contract with Malti Devi’s dancing academy. Apara Mehta, known for one of Star Plus’ yet another popular show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, will be returning to the channel as she portrays the character of Malti Devi and her entry is definitely going to make the show more intriguing and interesting.

It is being said that in the upcoming track, Anupama will put her career ahead this time, instead of the Shah (Sudhanshu Pandey) family as well as her love for Anuj Kapadia. Malti Devi is someone who Anupama has always looked up to in terms of dance and her dreams. Apara Mehta who essays the role of Malti Devi, said, “Malti Devi has worked very hard to be at the place where she is today, she is not just known nationally but internationally as well. She comes back to Ahmedabad as Malti Devi wants someone who is capable of taking care of her gurukul and she is in search of good dancers for it. Malti Devi’s search ends at Anupama and from here, the audience will see a new equation between Anupama and Malti Devi.”

Talking about the massive change her entry will lead in Anupama’s life, Apara continued, “Malti Devi’s entry in Anupama’s life will alter many things in it. Anupama will be taught to have self-worth, which will be a major change in Anupama’s life. This is the first time she will keep herself first and others later. Malti Devi is going to be a strict teacher, but at the same time, she will make Anupama realise her own value and identity. It will be intriguing and interesting to watch how the story unfolds in the life of Anupama.”

Malti Devi is not just a mentor but her character will also have many layers that audiences will uncover as the story proceeds. However, Apara asserted that her character is not a permanent one. “My character of Malti Devi is a cameo for three to four months and let’s see how the character turns out to be. It was because of Rajan Sir that I did the character of Malti Devi. Whenever he has asked me to do a cameo in any of his shows, Rajan Sir makes sure that the character turns out to be something that I really deserve to have. It is a role which I deserve. It has been twenty-five years in the television industry, but there are very few roles that I’ll always remember. I am very thankful and grateful to Rajan Sir for choosing me to essay the character of Malti Devi”

Anupama is an Indian Hindi-language television drama with an extensive star cast that airs on Star Plus at 10 pm.
