Yami Gautam-starrer serves its politics unabashedly. Mixing facts with fiction, and some convenient untruths, Article 370 presents the government of the day’s scrapping of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir as a masterclass in State craft.
Rating Score -> 3/5
Directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, ‘Article 370’ is a well-made film but will test your patience with its run-time of 2 hours and 40 minutes. The filmmaker could have easily chopped the first half that is wasted in setting up the premise. Crawling slower than a tortoise, the film wakes up only in the latter half and dashes like a hare towards the finish line with paced drama but with predictable twists.
Rating Score -> 3.5/5
this film marks a promising debut from director Aditya Suhas Jambhale, a two-time National Award-winning director, hinting that a lot can be expected from him in the future. ‘Article 370’ proves to be a worthwhile watch, offering enough substance to keep viewers engaged and invested.
Rating Score -> 3.5/5
Director Aditya Suhas Jambhale deals with the sensitive subject with the required seriousness and sincerity. With his no-nonsense approach and by not over-dramatising any of the events, Aditya has made it clear that he only wants to keep his focus on telling stories rather than adding on the formulaic bits. A rarity among filmmakers!
Rating Score -> 3/5
National award-winning film director Aditya Suhas Jambhale has done a brilliant job by not overdoing the patriotism bit. The film is a compelling narrative that informs and engages without making it look like a history and civics lesson. Article 370 is a true story of Kashmir’s tortured history that had to be corrected and the maker of the film did complete justice to it!
Rating Score -> 3.5/5
Article 370 might not be as crisp and slick as Uri: The Surgical Strike but it still manages to leave a mark. The hard-hitting prologue by Ajay Devgn perfectly sets the tone of the film at the outset.
Rating Score -> n/a
Article 370 underlines one of the most crucial chapters in our nation’s history. With an impressive writing, simple narrative and outstanding direction, it effortlessly manages to send across the message it intends to. Film made on Kashmir as the focal theme are aplenty in Bollywood, but this Yami and Priyamani-starrer will surely feature among the best ones out of the lot.
Rating Score -> 4/5
The Aditya Suhas Jambhale directorial is a complete entertainer when it comes to emotions, patriotism, and political drama. Even if you are familiar with the events of the Kashmir Valley and the abrogation of Article 370, the film will not even for a single minute will let you feel bored.
