A Salman Khan film is special. The last time he was seen as a leading man in a theatrical release, it was back in December 2019 when Dabangg 3 had released. The film had taken a start of Rs. 24.30 crores, which was quite good, though those were also the days when an opening day of Rs. 30-40 crores was a norm for the Salman Khan starrers.
However post pandemic things are quite different for everyone and especially with Friday falling on pre-Eid, the impact would be felt, as it’s also the last day of Ramzan. This would keep practically the entire chunk of Salman Khan fans home and they are then expected to come out full throttle only on Saturday and Sunday. Now had Eid fallen on Friday itself then an opening day of around Rs. 25 crores was on the cards but for now, anything over Rs. 15 crores would be considered good enough.
In fact, the fair expectation from the film would be to achieve the Rs. 15 crores milestone. If that happens indeed then the stage would be set for the Farhad Samji directed family action drama to see good momentum picking up for the rest of the weekend. Of course, the initial reports would have a role to play as well since the first day opening can come with stardom but then the second day onwards the word of mouth anyways start spreading. Hopefully, the film would deliver entertainment in right proportions and hence Rs. 25 crores or more would come in on Saturday and Sunday each.
