Cirkus is heading towards a low first day at the box office as early trends are coming in. The film is reporting poor occupancy all through the day and it has sent shockwaves across the industry.

Cirkus opened to 15% occupancy in the morning shows today. The film failed to show any necessary growth in the noon and registered 15-20% occupancy. The film did show some kind of limited growth from evening onwards and reported 25% occupancy as per the latest. Occupancy is still low.

The early trend suggests Cirkus First Day Box Office Collection is heading towards a poor 7 (+/-) crore nett range. These are early estimates from limited samples and the final count for the day may vary.

This is an absolute shocker as the film was expected to open in double digits prior to its release. In fact, prior to the release of its trailer a 15 crore nett was looking bare minimum. It means the film has fallen short of a par opening by at least 7-8 crores or maybe more also.

With such a low opening, Cirkus has literally no chance unless it shows a growth of 50-60% or more. Even that kind of jump is of no use if the film doesn’t trend well in the coming days. Hopefully it will pick up big on Saturday, otherwise it is big struggle ahead despite Christmas and New Year period to come.

Occupancy Report for Friday (Samples only) –

Morning – 15%

Noon – 15-20%

Evening-Night – 25%
