Popular actress, Dalljiet Kaur tied the marital knot with UK-based businessman, Nikhil Patel, in a dreamy wedding ceremony on March 18, 2023. The actress had a second wedding, after her divorce from actor, Shalin Bhanot, and got settled in Nairobi, Kenya with her new family. For the unversed, Shalin and Dalljiet are proud parents of a son, Jaydon, who lives with his mother in Kenya.
Dalljiet Kaur speaks about her new life in Kenya
In an interview with ETimes, Dalljiet Kaur opened up about her new life in Kenya and shared how her son, Jaydon is settling in. Talking about her ex-husband, Shalin’s reaction to their son, Jaydon shifting to Kenya, the actress mentioned that Shalin just wants Jaydon to be happy. She also mentioned all the things that have changed in Jaydon’s life after her second marriage with Nikhil, Dalljiet said:
“I don’t think Shalin would ever not want Jaydon to be happy. It is as simple as that and it is what I believe from the truest of my heart. We both want good for Jaydon and this is clearly anyone even walking on the street can say is the best decision for Jaydon. Whether it is having a complete family, sibling, a protective atmosphere, a good education, or just a normal way of living. Isse zyada koi normal kuch Jaydon ko koi kuch de he nahi sakta… of course we had a conversation and he is more than happy.”

Nikhil Patel recalls meeting Dalljiet’s ex-husband, Shalin Bhanot
Further in the interview, Dalljiet’s husband, Nikhil Patel talked about meeting Shalin Bhanot and revealed the discussion they had about Jaydon. Sharing the details, Nikhil mentioned that Shalin was very happy about Jaydon’s new life and had said that he couldn’t give his son a few things which he can get in Kenya. In his words:
“We had a discussion as well. I had a conversation with him. I met him a few weeks ago and we discussed this and exactly what Dalljiet just mentioned. He was very happy. He told me you can give him a few things which I cannot and he was happy about Jaydon’s new life. There was mutual respect.”
Dalljiet Kaur reveals her current relationship with Shalin Bhanot
Dalljiet Kaur and Shalin Bhanot got married in 2009, and the duo became parents to Jaydon in 2014. Later, in 2015, the actress accused Shalin of domestic violence and filed for a divorce. However, fast forward to today, the duo co-parent their son and share a cordial equation with each other. When Dalljiet was asked about her relationship with Shalin now, she said:
“The day Shalin plans to settle down I’ll be more than happy. Even during Bigg Boss when people were saying to him that something can happen to someone, I was happy. It has been 7 years that we have been divorced and we have moved on. I am more than happy if he finds someone and he has a happy life. It’s vice versa.”

Dalljiet Kaur talks about the emotional moments of her wedding
Dalljiet Kaur also talked about the emotional moments of her wedding and recalled how her parents made her wear chooda. She also shared that she was in tears when she made her bridal entry holding Jaydon’s hand and added that her mangalsutra and sindoor moments were unforgettable. She concluded:
“There were a few emotional moments. My mom and dad made me wear chooda, which is traditionally done by my maternal uncle but my parents did in my case. It was something which they have waited for more than anybody else. It was very emotional and the second was when I walked with Jaydon. The fact that Jaydon was holding my hand and living this moment with me, that sense of having him with me while walking the aisle, it was magical and beautiful. The mangalsutra, sindoor moments were very emotional. Also, when Jaydon performed for me and just to see him so happy, it was something which I’ll never forget till the end of my life.”
For the unversed, Shalin Bhanot and Dalljiet Kaur had announced their divorce in 2016.
