South Korean actors Chae Jong Hyeop, Cha Hak Yeon and Kim Hyo Jin have reportedly joined Park Eun Bin in the upcoming rom-com drama Diva of the Deserted Island.

According to the Korean tabloid Soompi, the romantic comedy drama follows the story of Seo Mok Ha (Park Eun Bin), a girl who drifted out onto a deserted island while on her way to Seoul to partake in an audition to become a singer. She is rescued 15 years later, and she dreams once again of becoming a diva.
Chae Jong Hyeop will portray broadcasting producing director Kang Bo Geol who is in charge of a music variety program. The outlet further describes the character’s plotline sharing, “While doing volunteer work, he discovers Seo Mok Ha, who has been stranded on a deserted island for 15 years, and their fates become intertwined with each other.”
Kim Hyo Jin has been roped in to star as former celebrity Yoon Ran Joo. “Having experienced an extravagant life in the past, she can’t help but feel a great sense of loss regarding her current life. Although she is too afraid of failure to take on any new challenges, she faces another turning point in her life after meeting her great fan Seo Mok Ha,” the outlet shares.
Meanwhile, Cha Hak Yeon will join the drama in the role of Woo Hak. His agency 51K confirmed the news stating, “Actor Cha Hak Yeon will be starring in the new drama Diva of the Deserted Island. He participated in the script reading yesterday (March 8).” On the other hand, Park Eun Bin was previously confirmed to play the lead role of Seo Mok Ha in February.
Directed by Oh Choong Hwan, the script for the drama comes from writer Park Hye Ryun, who previously worked with the director on While You Were Sleeping and Start-Up.
Diva of the Deserted Island is scheduled to commence filming in the first half of 2023.
