Drake’s armed guards allegedly refused and “kicked” a subpoena issued to the rapper, as claimed by a defense attorney in the XXXTentacion murder trial. According to Miami Herald, Mauricio Padilla, lawyer for Dedrick Williams, one of the three men accused of murdering XXXTentacion, issued a motion last week requiring Drake to deliver a deposition later this month.

The lawyer claimed that when the subpoena was taken to the rapper outside his California home on Valentine’s Day, his “armed guards not only closed the gates in the face of the process servers, but also kicked the subpoena down the driveway.”

The defense lawyer’s filing also included an audio recording of the conversation that happened between the process servers and rapper’s guards, as shared by Rolling Stone.

According to the audio, security repeatedly allegedly insisted the process servers had to get off the rapper’s property and maintained that they were neither expecting any deliveries, nor authorized to accept anything.

One of the servers allegedly told the guards, “It is only a subpoena for a virtual deposition; it is not even like a lawsuit bro.” After one final attempt to deliver the subpoena, one of the server’s said, “By the way, I like Drake.” To which the guard replied, “I am not accepting anything.”

Meanwhile, Padilla also claimed that a subpoena was also served to the rapper’s lawyer Bradford Cohen, asking if he would “accept service on behalf of” the rapper. But Cohen allegedly refused.

Drake’s alleged involvement comes in on the basis of Instagram Stories post from XXXTentacion where he mentioned, “IF ANYONE TRIES TO KILL ME IT WAS @champagnepapi IM snitching RN,” four months before he was murdered. XXXTentacion later deleted the post and claimed his account was hacked.
