Dunki First Day (Thursday) Morning Occupancy Update
Dunki made a decent start at the box office during the Thursday morning shows. The initial response is decent, though there is room for improvement. However, given its genre as a social drama, such films have recently been slow to kick off. We are optimistic that positive word of mouth will catch on like wildfire, leading to a rapid increase in occupancy throughout the day.
The morning shows of Day 1 witnessed Dunki opening with 18-20% occupancy, with samples primarily from multiplexes; reports from single screens are still pending. Ideally, a collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani like Dunki should have achieved a 25-30% opening. Nevertheless, considering it’s only the morning, the current figures are not discouraging.
The film has been released in an extensive 4500 screens approximately, and we anticipate a significant growth in occupancy, resulting in a healthy total for the day. Advance booking for the day ahead is looking good.
