It all happened when we asked the 61-year-old actor if he regretted passing a project in the past. In his response, he asserted, “I can tell you the role which I wanted I was about to do and it slipped out of my hand. It was Baazigar.” While calling it a “crazy story”, he recalled that he had seen A Kiss Before Dying and narrated the script to Abbas Mustan. He added, “There was a time when I was doing extremely well for myself. And I decided that I want to make this and I want to play the bad guy because A Kiss Before Dying is about Matt Dillon being a bad guy.”

Continuing further, Tijori stated that Abbas Mustan liked the script and agreed to do it. He mentioned that during the same time, Pahlaj Nihalani had also suggested him to collaborate. After Pahlaj also gave a green signal to the project and Deepak gave Pooja Bhatt’s name as the female lead, playing the double role. He went on to reveal that it was Pahlaj, who informed him that Abbas Mustan had approached Shah Rukh Khan to play the lead.

“He (Pehlaj) asked me to change the director and shot the film without informing Abbas Mustan. But I didn’t want to do that. So, I said let me have a word with them.” Before concluding, he added that he went to discuss the issue with Abbas Mustan along with Tiku Talsania. Later, the director duo had promised him that they will compensate him for it. However, it never happened and he still regrets that the film slipped out of his hands like this.
