Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan actress Bhumika Chawla, who is known for many popular Bollywood films, from Tere Naam to Run to this Salman Khan starrer, has also made a mark in South films and has acted with some of the biggest names in the industry like Mahesh Babu, Thalapathy Vijay, Suriya, Jr NTR, among others at the early stages of her career. The actress had simultaneously made a debut in multiple languages with multiple films in the early 2000s. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Bhumika opened up about the South vs Bollywood fight and asserted that it is not about the language but about the content of the film.

In the interview with Bollywood Hungama, Bhumika Chawla told, “It never was the fight, you know, it’s always about a good film. If I want to watch a good film, it can be in any language. It can be Persian, Korean, German, French, Hindi, Telugu, or Tamil. It doesn’t matter. There is no such fight in cinema.” She came in support of audiences and said, “How does the audience who’s paying money to go to theater Or watching Netflix at home, is creating a fight between South and North?” I think the fight happens when the content is bad. If a person from Mumbai is watching a film in Tamil or Telugu, when they don’t watch a good film, they get really ticked off. Then they are like, ‘Arre Bollywood film nahi bana rahein hai achha’.”

She added, “They are not creating a fight. They are spending their really precious time to watch us. So when they don’t like it, they have their own comments.” She concluded by saying, “It’s not like a fight fight! You have to give good films to people to watch because they spend their precious and busy time in watching these films. I think the movies should be good but it can be in any language. So the fight is probably to watch good content.”

For the unversed, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan will see Bhumika Chawla reuniting with Salman Khan after nineteen years. Bhumika had made her Bollywood debut opposite the superstar in Tere Naam and later went on to do Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa. She has also reunited with Venkatesh Daggubati in this film after 21 years post Vasu in 2002.
