Namashi Chakraborty, son of Mithun Chakraborty, is all set to kickstart his career with Rajkumar Santoshi’s Bad Boy. The film is produced by Sajid Qureshi of Inbox Pictures. It also introduces Sajid Qureshi’s daughter Amrin Qureshi in this romantic comedy.

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, when Namashi Chakraborty was asked about his experience on working with Rajkumar Santoshi in his debut film, he replied, “It was amazing. Just to be on the sets of a man who has made classics like Andaz Apna Apna, Ghayal, Ghatak, Damini and also some other iconic films… It was actually surreal to firstly sink in that Raj ji has actually okayed me as his bad boy. I think it’s the right place, right time and when destiny comes into play, I think everything works out. But it was extraordinary working with the brilliant director.”

It is said by several actors that Rajkumar Santoshi himself is a good actor. Talking about the same, Namashi said, “Honestly, even though our film has about ten actors, very principal actors apart from me and Amrin, but the best actor on set was actually Mr. Rajkumar Santoshi. The best thing about Raj ji is that he is not only a hit director, but he is also a fantastic actor. So, when he was directing me or Shashwat Da (Shashwat Chatterjee), or Johnny bhai (Johnny Lever), I was like, okay he being a man can probably get our body language and mannerism in a certain way. But the way he would direct Amrin was a sight to behold. It was such a joy watching him literally direct a woman with such ease and literally getting the body language and everything bang on.”

He added, “Watching Raj ji on set was like a masterclass every day and I must admit that in all the comedy portions of this film, I have literally copied Raj ji and said, ‘You tell me how you want it and that’s exactly how I will do it’. So, he is actually a master actor-director in all senses and for 70 days for every single shot he has been there and he has guided us and supported us all through the shoot.”

Helmed by Rajkumar Santoshi, Bad Boy also stars Johny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Darshan Jariwala and Saswata Chatterjee in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Anjum Qureshi and Sajid Qureshi under the banner, Inbox Pictures and is scheduled to release theatrically on April 28, 2023.
