South Korean singer Jay B has quietly enlisted into military as a social service worker and donated 60 million KRW (over Rs. 39 lakhs) from the military! He becomes the first GOT7 member to enlist in the military.

According to Korean media portal Naver, Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation (Chairman Hwang Young-ki), a representative child advocacy organization, announced on February 9 that the GOT7 leader donated 60 million won (over Rs. 39 lakhs) to support children around the world.
The report further stated that the donation will be used to support children in need in the region in order to live up to the love of fans in each continent. It will be used primarily for the Syrian Earthquake Emergency Relief Project, according to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation.
“After wrapping up the world tour, I decided to make a donation to convey love to children around the world in return for the fans who showed warm interest and love during Jay B’s world tour,” Jay b shared, as translated by his fan club DefDaily.
Talking about the casualties in Turkey and Syria after the severe earthquakes, he said, “I hope that children who have been physically and mentally injured can recover as soon as possible and return to normal daily life. I hope you will join us in helping.”
Meanwhile, head of the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation’s Northern Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters Lee Yeong Gyun also added, “The donation activities of well-known idol groups exert a positive ripple effect, such as a good influence on the public.”
Lee continued, “We will cherish the donations and warm hearts you donate and deliver them to children in need around the world so that they can live a healthy and happy life in a safe and pleasant environment.”
JAY B will release his single album Seasonal Hiatus later this month.
