1. India Today

Rating Score -> 2/5

Govinda Naam Mera is a letdown because it doesn’t know what it wants to be – a comedy? a thriller? a romantic drama? It’s neither here nor there. As a result, the experience, especially in the first half, is as messy as the film’s script. Songs pop out of nowhere and do very little to add to the entertainment value. Dialogues are cringe worthy and sound like rejects from a stand-up show.

2. India TV

Rating Score -> 2.5/5

Govinda Naam Mera, starring Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar, is not just about comedy but is loaded with many twists and turns which makes it a quirky thriller. Although it becomes pretty predictable once the puzzle pieces start to come together, the film keeps you hooked until the end. A decent and entertaining watch for the weekend!

3. Times Now

Rating Score -> 3/5

If you love comedy and thriller, then Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, and Bhumi Pednekar’s Govinda Naam Mera should be on your watchlist for the upcoming weekend. It is a family entertainer and a perfect pick for a movie night. Despite the slow build-up, the film emerges as a winner with its comic timings

4. Indian Express

Rating Score -> 1.5/5

Vicky Kaushal-Kiara Advani film feels stretched, forgettable. It is intended to be an easy-breezy caper, but the laughter stays strictly sporadic.

5. Rediff

Rating Score -> 2/5

Shashank Khaitan, the director behind the Dulhania movies (Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badrinath Ki Dulhania) and Dhadak, commits this crime despite a troika of skilful actors at his disposal. Slapstick comedy isn’t a natural fit on Vicky Kaushal, but he submits himself sportingly to the stupidity and comes out unscathed. Kiara Advani’s energy is capable of far more heavy lifting than it gets credit for.

6. Komal Nahta

Rating Score -> n/a

On the whole, Govinda Naam Mera is an entertaining fare which can be enjoyed with the family.

7. Times of India

Rating Score -> 3.5/5

Right from Vicky and Kiara shaking a leg to the track Pappi Jhappi to donning matching outfits, everything reminds you of the madness and quirks of the 90s comedies. Govinda Naam Mera is definite crowd-pleaser that entertains with ample laughter, confusion and comedy.

8. Hindustan Times

Rating Score -> n/a

Watch Govinda Naam Mera if you could sit through brainless a comedy that makes you laugh maybe at a couple of scenes but mostly keeps you confused as to why a story with much potential was treated so badly and half-heartedly.

9. Anupama Chopra

Rating Score -> n/a

Govinda Naam Mera ends with someone giving a lengthy explanation of how the pieces of the puzzle fit together but frankly by that time I was past caring. I was missing Karan Johar’s installment in Lust Stories, which was the first time we saw Vicky and Kiara together.

10. News 18

Rating Score -> 3.5/5

Who isn’t guilty of enjoying a little extra cheese and corn in their movies? This is the kind of low-brow humour you enjoy without pretensions. I truly enjoyed the inspired lunacy, the nonsensical narrative. It’s not great cinema and definitely it is not perfect or extraordinary in any way. It is a good weekend watch with your family, partner or gang of friends with a paisa vasool feel.
