Kamal Haasan to attend the audio launch of Ponniyin Selvan 2 : Bollywood News

Ponniyin Selvan 1 aka PS 1 won many hearts with its lavish sets and an enviable star cast. The film’s second part, as promised by the makers, will be releasing in April this year. As we gear up to welcome the second instalment with equal enthusiasm, the makers have decided to make it even more special. They have invited Ulaganayakan Kamal Haasan for the audio launch that will be held on March 29 at 6 pm.

As the world waits with bated breath for the release of PS 2, the Glassbox, on behalf of Madras Talkies, announced the release of the music from the upcoming sequel. Along with some live performances, Kamal Haasan too will be attending the event as the Chief Guest at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. In an earlier media interaction, the South superstar had revealed that Ponniyin Selvan has always been one of the most ambitious projects of his friend and filmmaker Mani Ratnam. In fact, the actor had also revealed that Mani Ratnam had plans to do the film with Haasan. While that couldn’t materialize, the superstar has decided to make his presence felt by attending the audio launch.

Ponniyin Selvan 2 aka PS 2 will be a continuation of PS 1. The film is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel by the same name. The film features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Trisha Krishnan, Karthi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, Jayaram, among others. It is directed by Mani Ratnam along with music by A R Rahman. Produced by Lyca Productions, the film will have a pan-India release on April 28 in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada.
