Kangana Ranaut referred to Karan in a tweet as an unpleasant, jealous, cruel, and toxic person after Priyanka Chopra made some unexpected revelations about Bollywood and how she was cornered. Filmmaker Karan Johar on Friday took to Instagram Stories and dropped cryptic messages while apparently taking a dig at Kangana Ranaut.

The director claimed that social media may be like a bad companion and compared Instagram to a toxic lover. Karan penned, “Instagram is a toxic lover… Who stalks you, demands your attention, messes with your head and gives you nothing but complexes… about your fitness, fashion and food. Can you break up? Do you have it in you? Is there no one you can have an affair on the side with? Don’t say Twitter! That’s not a lover that’s a hater.”

This may be a reference to Kangana’s previous exchange with photographers at an airport, during which she asked why they wouldn’t ask about the film mafia but would yell if she did anything. He also seemed to have addressed the allegation of nepotism by saying that while he enjoyed many pieces from the Dior presentation, he won’t share them. He indirectly addressed NEPO in capital letters. Karan further wrote regarding the Dior fashion show in Mumbai. He said, “I loved so many looks at the Dior show! But meNtioning thEm is Perhaps a nO…#iykyK”

The filmmaker also complained that celebrities were conducting press conferences at airports. He wrote, “The airport is a runway, it’s also a press conference, next it may be a trailer launch venue. I subscribe to it all, no complaints, but maybe nice to also catch a flight once in a while.”

Coming to the professional front, Karan is all set for his next directorial project, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. The film is slated to release on July 28 this year.
