All the fears that one had till Friday when Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ka Jaan opened to Rs. 15.81 crores have been laid to rest with first Saturday and now Sunday going past the Rs. 25 crores. Not that the Friday start was bad since it was all about keeping expectations realistic and under check. If one starts looking at the box office outcome of every film on the same barometer as pre-pandemic then there is bound to be disappointment. Moreover, every big film can’t be expected to either outperform like Pathaan or surprise like a rare south release, case in point being Pushpa or Kantara.
Hence, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan came with controlled expectations and from that aspect it has managed to get into a zone from where it can be expected to at least sail through and book some profits from theatrical run as well. Of course, Salman Khan has consistently given Rs. 200 crores or even Rs. 300 crores rather comfortably pre-pandemic. However the world has changed in last three years and hence business expectations from the box office have also come down to half.
Hence, when a film goes Rs. 25 crores each on Saturday and Sunday each then it has to be looked at rather respectfully. This has happened with the Salman Khan starrer as well which managed to gather Rs. 26.61 crores on Sunday, which is some sort of an improvement over Saturday collections of Rs. 25.75 crores. This has resulted in Rs. 68.17 crores been connected after the first three days. Now had this number been Rs. 75 crores then that would have been fantastic, though what it has managed to eventually gain is also quite good enough as at one point in time it had seemed like the weekend number would emerge in the range of Rs. 55-60 crores at best.
