Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan has put up decent First Day Box Office numbers at the box office. This is mainly thanks to the B and C centers as film underperformed in the metros. Metros reported 15-20% occupancy for the day whereas the story was different in B and C centers where film registered a decent 30-35% occupancy for day 1.
KKBKKJ collected 15.8 cr nett approx on Friday. Actuals are a bit higher than the estimates (which were in the range of 12-14 cr NBOC) as the film did better in interiors which pushed the box office collections beyond the 15 cr nett mark. Still, the film should have taken an opening of the 18-20 cr nett mark. Earlier Salman Khan films have opened in excess of the 20 cr nett mark in the pre-Eid period.
The overall occupancy for Friday was around 20-25% approx. The film will need a good push on Saturday (2nd Day) to reach a respectable weekend mark. Ideally, a 30-40% jump will be good. EID holiday also falls on Saturday and that should also help to boost the business.
The main problem for KBKJ is that big metros are underperforming. If they join the party then collections will shoot up to a different level. A film can’t simply run on the power of B, C, and mass-dominated centers alone. As far as audience reports are concerned it is pretty mixed. Honestly, it is easily one of the weakest Salman Khan films released in the last 10 years or so. As for critic’s reports that don’t matter as theater-going audiences don’t give a damn about that.
