Kriti Sanon opens up on the success of her films; says, “With Bareilly Ki Barfi, people opened up to the actor in me” : Bollywood News

Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon made her mark among the top Bollywood actresses even after being an outsider. The actress in an interview spoke about how the Bollywood industry welcomed her and how things fell in place over the course of time.

Kriti moved to Mumbai and pursued acting as her career. She featured alongside Tiger Shroff in her debut Bollywood film post which she got a film opposite Varun Dhawan, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Talking about how things worked out for her. ETimes quoted her saying, “I felt welcomed, obviously, from my first film itself. I knew I was an outsider and didn’t know anyone as such but then I got my second film which was a Rohit Shetty directorial and starred SRK and Kajol. It’s like a dream for anyone.”

Further speaking about how she felt welcomed in the industry from the beginning itself, she said, “There’s a happy realisation that okay people know about me, they feel like I have the potential and they want to give me an opportunity. So, I did feel welcomed in the beginning itself. Having said that, I was still struggling to find my place in the industry. I didn’t know my standing. I didn’t have an acting background, nor did I ever get formal training in it. I have learnt everything on the job.”

Kriti revealed how Bareilly Ki Barfi proved to be a great film for her. She said, “I have always been ambitious. I am not easily satisfied and so that kept me going. With Bareilly Ki Barfi, people opened up to the actor in me. That’s exactly what I was craving for. I wanted people to notice me as an actor. It was very important for me. I was like this star and all… which is great, I knew I was this heroine… which is fine, but I wanted to be known as an actor.” She added, “After Bareilly… it was Luka Chuppi that added on to my success, followed by Panipat. But a major jump came with Mimi.”

Kriti was recently seen in Rohit Dhawan’s Shehzada opposite Kartik Aaryan. She will be soon seen in Adipurush with Prabhas and the action film Ganapath opposite Tiger Shroff that is slated to release on October 20, 2023. The actress also has a yet-untitled film with Shahid Kapoor, which is produced under Dinesh Vijan’s banner Maddock Films. In her pipeline she also The Crew alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu. The shooting of the film went on floors recently.
