Liv Tyler to reprise her 2008 MCU role in Captain America: New World Order

Liv Tyler is all set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, 16 years after her last appearance in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. The actress is joining Captain America: New World Order in the role of as scientist Betty Ross, the daughter of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross.

According to Variety, the role was originated by the late William Hurt. Harrison Ford is stepping into the role of Thaddeus Ross for New World Order, in which the character has become President of the United States. In The Incredible Hulk, Tyler’s Betty Ross was the love interest for Edward Norton’s Bruce Banner.

In October 2022, Harrison Ford was reported to step into the world of Marvel Cinematic Universe, replacing the late actor William Hurt in Captain America: New World Order which is being produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore are producing.

Directed by Julius Onah, the fourth Captain America movie follows the events of the 2021 Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier; that show’s head writer, Malcolm Spellman, wrote the screenplay with writer Dalan Musson. Carl Lumbly, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas and Tim Blake Nelson also join the cast.

Captain America: New World Order is set for release on May 3, 2024. The film, which is currently in production, is said to be Marvel’s biggest team-up movie since Avengers: Endgame.
