The cast crew of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is busy with the promotional activities. During the launch event, the film Director Luv Ranjan, who has directed great comedy rom-coms like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety was questioned regarding why his films always portray female characters as villains.
Luv Ranjan reveals why female characters in his films are portrayed as villains
Luv Ranjan’s film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar has finally dropped the official trailer on Monday. During the launch event, Luv Ranjan gets confronted with the question about why his films always portray female characters as the antagonist. The director’s last film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety also portrayed Nushrratt Bharuccha as a negative character.
In the launch event, while talking to media, he said, “Aur bhi filmmakers hain jo ‘ladki seedhi hai ladka chaalu hai’ ke space mein acchi films bana rahe hain. As a filmmaker I need to have a certain novelty in my films and for my audience”.He further added, “Film mein jab tak ek negative aur ek positive force na ho tab tak film audience ko engage nahi karegi, it’s purely a creative decision to have a female playing a negative character in my films.”
Director Luv Ranjan said, “Love is a complicated subject, but why not have some fun while we try and unravel relationships in today’s world? The world and vibe of the film have been brought alive by the super-talented pair of Shraddha and Ranbir and my brilliant crew. I am hoping for audiences across all ages, young and young at heart to have a good time in the theatres while they relate to their own romance when they watch the film.”
It is the first time Shraddha Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor will be seen together on-screen. The trailer of the film was fresh. It showed crackling chemistry between the lead pair, hilarious dialogues and a concept which is as fun, unexpected and twisted as the title itself and yet totally relatable.
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is directed by Luv Ranjan, produced by Luv Films’ Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, and presented by T- Series’ Gulshan Kumar and Bhushan Kumar. The film hits screens worldwide on the Holi, 8th March 2023.
