Martin Scorsese debuted the exclusive first look preview of his hotly anticipated epic Killers of the Flower Moon at CinemaCon 2023. Leonardo DiCaprio, Brendan Fraser, Robert De Niro, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, and Jillian Dion star in the sprawling film set to debut at 2023 Cannes.

The film, which boasts a run time of three hours and 26 minutes, reunites Scorsese with his most frequent collaborators, Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro. “This is a big-screen movie, and that’s what we made,” Scorsese said of the film. “I could only have made this picture with collaborators who are remarkable and who are totally dedicated to bring this story to life on an epic scale. I needed actors brave enough to play complicated characters.”
“This is a big screen movie, and that’s what we made,” Scorsese added, promising a story told on an “epic scale.” Scorsese then thanked “the entire Osage Nation,” praising them for “working tirelessly” to bring the story to life. He also thanked Paramount and Apple Films who “are real believers in cinema.”
Based on David Grann’s bestselling book, Killers of the Flower Moon is a true story. The official logline for the twisty mystery reads, “Killers of the Flower Moon is set in 1920s Oklahoma and depicts the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation, a string of brutal crimes that came to be known as the Reign of Terror.”
“When this director is inspired by true stories, think about the results,” said Paramount’s head Brian Robbins. “We are in Vegas, so let’s start with Casino. Raging Bull. The Aviator. The Irishman. Goodfellas. The list goes on and on. All of them classics.”
Killers of the Flower Moon premieres in limited theaters on October 6, followed by a wide release October 20.
