Indian business manganate, Mukesh Ambani runs his multi-billion company, Reliance Industries, which deals in petrochemicals, oil and gas, telecom and retail. Born on April 19, 1957, in Yemen to Reliance Industries founder, Dhirubhai Ambani and his wife, Kokilaben Ambani, Mukesh Ambani went on to become the richest man in Asia. As per the latest report in Forbes, Mukesh Ambani’s net worth is USD 84.1 billion, making him the 13th richest billionaire in the world.

Mukesh Ambani joined his family business in 1981 and dedicated his time and effort to diversifying the company. Four years later, he tied the knot with Nita Dalal in 1985 and started his journey with her. The couple welcomed three kids, Akash Ambani, Isha Ambani and Anant Ambani. Now, Mukesh, Nita and their kids are all working around the clock to make their business successful and world-renowned.

When Mukesh Ambani revealed he wanted to become a teacher

Once, Mukesh Ambani opened up about his successful journey in the business world and revealed some interesting details about the same. Speaking at the India Today Conclave 2017, Ambani revealed that he wanted to become a teacher before his father asked him to join Reliance Industries. However, after their marriage, Nita Ambani also encouraged him to take up teaching so they both could be involved in teaching for their personal satisfaction. In his words:

“Before my father (the late Dhirubhai Ambani) brought me into Reliance, I wanted to work for the World Bank for a while or teach at a university. With my wife (Nita) being a teacher, she is now telling me it’s high time I have taken up teaching. So going forward, both of us will be involved in education a lot more. It’s something we want to do more for our own personal satisfaction.”

There is no denying the fact that Mukesh Ambani has immense wealth and he leads a luxurious life. However, during the interaction, when he was asked what money means to him, the country’s richest man revealed that it means nothing to him. Sharing an important life lesson from his father, late Dhirubhai Ambani, Mukesh said that one who runs behind money is a fool and added:

“Money means nothing to me really. My father used to always tell me that if you start anything just to make money, then, in his own words, ‘you are a fool’, because you will not be good at anything else and also not make money. Instead, if you start with a purpose… you want to do what nobody else has done, then money is the by-product but that by-product should never be important.”

Further talking about the same, Mukesh Ambani also shared the mantra to be successful that every person should follow to become rich. Sharing the details, the business tycoon claimed that one should always do the things that they are passionate about as that will definitely lead them to success. He said:

“You should clearly know what you want to do, in what you want to be the best, and what you are passionate about. If you keep dreaming again and again, you will convert those dreams into passion. And if you are passionate about something that will define your purpose.”
