Known TV actor Namish Taneja has spoken about the dangers of getting trolled and why it must stop. He also narrated an incident where he once became a victim of it and how he reacted in that situation.
Namish Taneja on getting trolled, “I went through severe mental stress, I pleaded the trollers not to abuse”
The actor, known for his work in shows like Main Maike Chale Jaaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo and Swaragini, said in a statement, “The people who troll or do such things in my eyes are uneducated. They should first know the situation and explain the bad things to the person instead of trolling that person. Saying negative should be avoided and how we can say that thing positively (should be thought). And sometimes, people don’t hurt intentionally but sometimes it happens on its own, so I think a person should say anything (only) after thinking twice about it.”
Highlighting how mental health gets affected because of trolling, Namish added, “Mental health gets affected deeply by trolling, and I am getting mature as I have reached the age of 28. I have come across many such incidents in which I have been tortured, and I have also gone through very severe mental stress.”
The actor recalled an incident where he was trolled while being a contestant on the Bigg Boss. “I was once trolled when I went to Bigg Boss, and I said something that was portrayed in another manner, so many of the people said a lot of bad things about me and also abused me,” he said.
He added, “It was the first time in my life (that) I was facing that situation, and I never thought such a thing would ever happen to me, but it did, and I felt very bad. It took me time to recover from that phase, and those who abused me, I pleaded with them not to abuse, and I also replied to bad comments by explaining what I meant at the time, and when I cleared those things, I felt better, and luckily, my parents guided me towards a right path.”
These days, Namish is also in the news for making a comeback through the Zee TV show Maitree. He plays the role of a lawyer named Ashish.
