After collecting Rs. 165 crores in its three-day run at the box office in India, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan is set for another record-breaking day. According to early estimates, Pathaan is looking to collect in the range of Rs. 51 to 53 crores, taking the four-day total collection to Rs. 217 crores nett. The film has created new records every single day since its release and will be closing its 5-day extended opening weekend at Rs. 275 crores.
Pathaan has shown big gains all across the nation – be it single screens or multiplexes – on Saturday. The overall jump will be around 35 percent on Saturday and this is expected to go up further on Sunday. The audience verdict is loud and clear – as Pathaan has emerged a blockbuster of epic proportions. It’s the third time in the last 4 days that Pathaan has collected over Rs. 50 crore in a single day.
Pathaan has also kept the blockbuster tradition of YRF Spy Universe intact. For those unaware, the earlier three films of the universe – Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, and War – were also termed blockbusters at the box office. On Sunday, Pathaan will emerge as the highest-grossing Shah Rukh Khan film by going past the collections of Chennai Express, and hopefully by Tuesday, it will become his first film to enter the Rs. 300 crore club at the box office.
The final figures of Pathaan on Saturday could be a little higher too depending on where the single screens finally land. All in all, it’s a historic day.
