After playing in theatres for 9 days, Pathaan has seen extraordinary collections coming in. The trend continued on Thursday as well when Rs. 15.50 crores* were accumulated. Now on the face of it this may seem less when compared to first day collections of Rs. 57 crores. However one has to take into consideration that a huge number of audiences has already watched the film and then there are a couple of open weeks ahead as well, which means a lot is yet to be accumulated with every passing day.
The film has now reached Rs. 364 crores and the next big milestone is lifetime number of Dangal. The Aamir Khan led film stands at Rs. 387.38 crores and this landmark would be crossed by Pathaan tomorrow. That would be a huge achievement indeed since Dangal has been Bollywood’s highest grosser for a really long time and though last year dubbed version of KGF: Chapter 2 had surpassed it, one longed for Hindi film industry’s own film to accomplish this as well. This will now happen as finally a movie bigger than Dangal would be ruling at the box office and set a new record by entering into the Rs. 400 Crore Club with ease.
Pathaan has scored a series of records in the nine days that it has been playing in theatres and rest assured, this weekend a lot more would be broken as the Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham starrer is set to go on an overdrive yet again, especially on Saturday and Sunday.
