There is no stopping the Pathaan [2023] juggernaut. The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer action thriller continues to soar at the domestic and global box office. Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan made Rs13 crore nett on its second Friday, as reported by BoxofficeIndia.com.
The YRF film has so far amassed Rs 361 crore nett in domestic business. Pathan has smashed many records in just 10 days so far. It is not only the fastest Bollywood film to reach Rs300 crore nett, but it could well beat Dangal [2016] in the next 24 hours. The Aamir Khan film holds the record for highest earning Bollywood film in India, having made Rs374.53 crore nett.
Pathaan’s success has been a great boost for Shah Rukh Khan and Yash Raj Films, both entitities have been struggling for a long time. Bollywood itself has had a tough last few years, with only a handful of films doing well at the box office.
Pathaan was mired into controversies before the release, and this has continued post release, too, amidst rumours of inflated collection, bulk buying. Nevertheless, one can’t deny the devil its due.
Pathaan will enjoy another uncontested week with Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada [2023] now pushed to 17 February.
