Kasamh Se actress, Priya Bathija rose to fame with her role in Sony TV’s popular serial, Khwaish. She was also part of the shows, including Basera, Kitani Mohabbat Hai and others. On the other hand, Priya’s personal life wasn’t a bed of roses. She had tied the knot twice, but both her marriages had failed. For the unversed, she tied the knot with actor, Jatin Shah in 2009. However, they got divorced in 2011. Afterwards, she gave love a second chance in 2017 when she tied the knot with her Raipur-based DJ, Kawaljeet Saluja. Priya and Kawaljeet got divorced after two years of marriage. Now, Priya opened up about her two failed marriages and how she came out of this.

In an interview with the Etimes, Priya Bathija opened up about how she gave love a chance post her divorce in 2011. She mentioned that afterwards, she didn’t think of marriage for many years. However, without discussing her first marriage problems, Priya said:
“When I married Jatin, I was very young and though the marriage did not work out, I gave it my 100 per cent. I don’t want to dwell on why things didn’t work out because too much time has passed now. After my divorce in 2011, I did not think of marriage for many years. But I decided to give love another chance and settled for an arranged marriage.”

Priya Bathija reveals how her second marriage with Kawaljeet Saluja didn’t work out
Talking about her second marriage, Priya mentioned that even after giving her hundred per cent, her second marriage didn’t work out. She revealed that they were having compatibility issues despite trying their best. Elaborating on the same, Priya added:
“I thought everything would fall in place the second time around. Unfortunately, it did not. There were compatibility issues between us and things didn’t work out.”
Priya mentioned how she is dealing with life currently
In the same conversation, the actress opened up about focussing on the positive aspects of her life. She revealed how she has focussed on meditation, travelling and partying with her friends and that she is living her life to its fullest even after having failed marriages. She concluded:
“I may have gone through two failed marriages, but I don’t see it as the end of the world. Life does not end if your marriage does not work out. There are so many other things to do in life. In the last two years, I worked on myself, got fitter, meditated a lot and travelled with friends. I have never been a party animal and enjoy meeting my friends occasionally. Life has been good. I am not cynical about love or companionship either. I do feel that it’s important to have a companion, but one does not stop living life to the fullest just because they are single. I am now focused on my work and wanting to take up interesting roles.”

Why did Priya’s second marriage fail?
In April 2019, as per multiple reports, we had stumbled upon rumours of trouble in Priya and Kawaljeet’s marriage. If reports are to be believed, the couple wasn’t staying together for a year, before finally filing for divorce. According to a report, the actress had filed a police complaint in Mumbai’s Oshiwara against Kawaljeet, accusing him of domestic violence.
On the work front, Priya returned to her acting career after two years in the supernatural series, Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal, produced by Yash Patnaik.
