A year ago, on this date, April 14, the most loved couple in B-town, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, began their forever journey. The intimate ceremony had taken place at Ranbir’s home, Vastu, in Bandra. Their wedding truly broke many stereotypes, including having a destination wedding. However, recently, a Reddit user dug out two old videos. In one of the videos, Neetu Kapoor revealed that ‘Ralia’ was planning a destination wedding in South Africa.

For the unversed, a Reddit user by the name of Bolly Blinds N Gossip shared a post, which was a compilation of old interviews of Alia and Neetu. In the first clip, Alia had criticised destination weddings, calling them ‘too stressful’, while Neetu, in the second clip, revealed that Alia and Ranbir wanted to marry in South Africa, but ended up with a wedding at home.

Alia, who was speaking to Mid-Day in the old video, had explained, “I don’t like to show off, it’s actually very stressful for me. The idea of taking people and travelling to another location and setting up that place. That’s just too stressful for me. We are not like big kind of celebratory people.”

Meanwhile, Neetu Kapoor, during her interaction with Film Companion, said, “Ranbir and Alia had planned so much that ‘We’ll go to South Africa, we’ll do a recce,’ and eventually, where did they do it (marry)? At their home. For two years we were planning we’ll go here, and we were seeing pictures. We were completely going nuts. But this was the best, and she looked so beautiful.”

The video has received a mixed reaction from netizens. While a user said, “She could have simply said that initially she did want a destination wedding, but it didn’t work out,” another commented, “The problem with Alia is that she lies a lot, even when we have videos and interviews to dispute her lies.”
