The 70s and 80s heartthrob Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter and an established actress Sonakshi Sinha shares an uncanny resemblance to yesteryear actress Reena Roy. In fact, there has been a lot of talk about this on social media. Well, Reena Roy has now broken her silence on the same and shared her take on it.
Reena Roy comments on Sonakshi Sinha’s high resemblance to her; calls it “quirks of destiny”
In a conversation with Firstpost, Reena Roy was asked why Sonakshi Sinha looks so much like her. In a brief response, Roy asserted, “Wahin na, yeh zindagi ke ittefaq hote hain (these are the quirks of destiny).” She refrained from saying much and concluded her answer by saying, “Jeetuji’s mother and my mother look like twins sisters.”
For the unversed, talks about Reena Roy’s affair with Shatrughan Sinha was quite popular in the 70s and 80s. The duo had met each other for the first time on the sets of Kaalicharan, and became good friends. Later, they were said to be in a relationship. In 1981, when Shatrughan married Poonam, it was said to give a big shock to Reena. However, even after his wedding, he reportedly continued his affair with Reena. But Reena didn’t want to be Shatrughan’s second choice and the two were believed to have parted ways.
Reena tied the knot with a Pakistani cricketer, Mohsin Khan, and announced a sabbatical from the film industry. Speaking of the same during the conversation, Roy asserted, “Abb kya karen, taqdeer ke aage toh koi kuch nahin kar sakta hai (what to do none can fight destiny).” She also opened up on her decision of making a career in showbiz. She was quoted saying, “I was very fond of dancing and acting from childhood. I would be acting and dancing in front of the mirror. My mother would get fed up, scolding me to study and focus on my studies.”
