As Deadline notes, plot details are under wraps. Reynolds also produce for his company Maximum Effort, which has a first-look deal with the studio, alongside his frequent collaborator Shawn Levy of 21 Laps Entertainment. The project will mark fourth feature film for the two collaborators. The star and director first teamed up for Oscar-nominated box office hit Free Guy.
The two then reunited on Netflix’s The Adam Project, released in March 2022. On the other hand, Reynolds and Levy also have much-anticipated Deadpool 3 in the works, which reportedly is set to start filming this spring. “We are writing, rewriting, developing, prepping Deadpool every day now,” Levy said of the threequel which will officially bring the franchise in MCU.
“It is such a blast to laugh every day,” he added. “It is so delicious to hear and write and come up with these scenes where people are just talking foul. And the violence is in your face and hardcore, and it’s very much a Deadpool movie. And it has Logan in it. And it has Wolverine in it. It’s too fun. I’m having so much fun, and I haven’t even hit the shooting floor yet.”
Meanwhile, production for the upcoming musical comedy, which is said to be based on the reunion of a music band, is projected to begin between this fall and early 2023.
