Selfiee had a disastrous start to its box office campaign on Friday (1st day). The film had a low buzz and was expected to open slowly and low. But never in anyone’s mind film was expected to open with such horrific collections.
It has literally sent a shockwave across the industry. If the film fails to see a significant jump on Saturday then it will emerge as one of the all-time biggest disasters of not only Akshay Kumar’s career but also of the Indian film industry. Stakes are high as the budget of the film is on the pretty higher side. And with the opening film has got only a miracle can save it now. Even a miracle may not be enough.
Selfiee collected 2.55 cr net approx on day 1. The film failed to generate even a double-digit occupancy for Friday. This is a shocker, to be honest. Post-pandemic Akshay Kumar has delivered big flops in succession but all of those now look like a big success when the opening of Selfiee is seen. Even last week’s release Shehzada box office collections look like a success when Selfiee collections are compared. Just imagine such terrible is the box office performance of Selfiee.
