Shahid calls Kareena’s performance irreplaceable in Jab We Met
In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Shahid Kapoor opened up on the continued love and affection he receives for his film, Jab We Met, released in 2007. Interestingly, as the film completed 16 years in 2023, the fans of the film were treated with another theatrical re-release of the film. Tagging the performance of her then-girlfriend to be irreplaceable by any other actor, he mentioned:
“I cannot comment on my role, but for Geet, I really doubt anybody else will be able to do that kind of justice.”

Shahid opens up about the possibility of making a sequel to Jab We Met
The recent era of films in Bollywood surfaces the newest trend of sequels, and they receive a fair share of love from the audience. In the very same interview, Shahid shared his views on Jab We Met having a sequel of its own, seeing the renewed interest of the audience once again. In his words:
“It really depends on the quality of that script. So if there is a script that demands a sequel and I feel it is the kind of script that you read and say man this will be better than the original this can match up to the original I would do it but if I feel it’s not and I’m just trying to use the brand value of the original thing to do then I feel that that ‘why are you doing it, don’t do it’.”
Shahid calls Jab We Met his own version of DDLJ
Well, the movie buffs would agree that Jab We Met culminated as a film at the peak of the relationship between Shahid and Kareena. Therefore, Shahid, even today, considers it a special movie in his filmography and feels it is like DDLJ for him. In his words:
“That is the magic of Imtiaz Ali, he made a film so relevant and I don’t think a love story like that has come out after that. It is his vision that is giving us love and we should thank him for that. The film is my DDLJ, it is iconic.”
