Lee Dong Wook and Kim Bum starrer 2020 hit fantasy drama, Tale of the Nine-Tailed is gearing up for its new season and the makers have finally released a new teaser for their upcoming sequel Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938!

Starring Lee Dong Wook, Jo Bo Ah, and Kim Bum, 2020 fantasy drama Tale of the Nine-Tailed tells the story of a mythical nine-tailed fox Yi Yeon (Lee Dong Wook) in a modern era. The new mysterious poster features Yi Yeon stranded in 1938 Japan. Director Kang Shin Hyo and scriptwriter Han Woo Ri from Season 1 will be reuniting for the new project.

As the Korean tabloid Soompi notes, though Yi Yeon ended up with his love interest Nam Ji Ah (Jo Bo Ah) in Season 1, he will get swept up in an unexpected incident and get summoned to the year of 1938. The new season will depict Yi Yeon’s desperate struggle to return to present day where all the people precious to him are.

The newly dropped teaser opens with Yi Yeon stating, “Someone has trapped me in the past.” As he finds himself stuck in an era of chaos, he runs into Ryu Hong Joo (Kim So Yeon), who greets him, “Long time no see, fox,” and former mountain god Cheon Moo Young (Ryu Kyung Soo). The teaser ends with Yi Rang (Kim Bum) asking Yi Yeon, “Hyung, you still haven’t died yet?”

Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 is slated to premiere on May 6 at 9:20 p.m. KST as a follow-up to Pandora: Beneath the Paradise. The tvN drama will air every Saturday-Sunday. Watch the new teaser trailer below!
