Just weeks away from its release, the second trailer of Mufasa: The Lion King was unveiled. Directed by Barry Jenkins, the Indian fans’ excitement soared to another level as the makers have brought in some of the biggest names from the Hindi film industry in Mufasa: The Lion King—Shah Rukh Khan and his sons, AbRam and Aryan.

Mufasa: The Lion King has already generated a huge amount of buzz, especially among Indian fans for many reasons. One of them is the voices of some of the most renowned celebrities from across the country. Their voices coupled with the breathtaking visualsand engrossing storyline of the popular animated franchise is expected to be a huge hit.
In the Hindi-dubbed version of Mufasa: The Lion King, Shah Rukh Khan has teamed up with his sons—Aryan Khan and AbRam—to bring the characters to life by lending their voices to Mufasa, Simba, and young Mufasa, respectively.

Top talents from every movie industry have been rounded up for Mufasa’s voice. Besides Shah Rukh Khan for the Hindi-dubbed version, Mahesh Babu will also become the voice of Mufasa for the Telugu version of Mufasa: The Lion King. The Tamil version of the movie will feature Arjun Das as the voice of Mufasa for the Tamil version of the movie.
In addition to Mufasa’s voice, the movie features several well-known voices in these three languages for other important characters. They are: Sanjay Mishra as Pumbaa, Meiyang Chang as Taka, Shreyas Talpadeas Timon, and Makarand Deshpande as Rafiki.

After the tremendous success of the 2019 live-action The Lion King, Mufasa: The Lion King will serve as both prequel and sequel. Mufasa: The Lion King is taking the franchise aheadwith a brand-new story that will take the audience back to the events leading up to Mufasa’s rise to the throne. The story unfolds as Rafiki tells the story of two lions—Mufasa and Taka—Kiara, the granddaughter of Mufasa and the daughter of Simba and Nala.
The two-minute animated videogives a glimpse into the beautiful storyof the jungle and the characters living there. The trailer unfolds with a conversation among Timon, Pumbaa, and other jungle characters.
Little orphaned Mufasa is not too happy during the exchange. He then meets another cub, Taka. Taka’s father advises him to stay away from the “awara (wanderer)” Mufasa, as Taka is destined to become the next “maharaj (king)”. In response, Mufasa says, “Mai awara nahi, mai to bas kho gaya hu. (I am not a wanderer, I am just lost.)”
The growing fondness and friendship between Mufasa and Taka follow and soon all the animals come together for a special mission. Towards the end, someone tells a grown-up Mufasa that his time has finally come.

Talking about being a part of Mufasa: The Lion King, Shah Rukh Khan had earlier said in a statement, “Mufasa has an incredible legacy, and stands as the ultimate king of the jungle, imparting his wisdom to his son, Simba. I deeply relate to him as a father and also resonate with Mufasa’s journey in the film.

It’s a special collaboration for me with Disney, particularly because my sons, Aryan and AbRam, are part of this journey and sharing this experience with them is truly meaningful.”
