TWICE’s 12th EP ‘Ready To Be’ earns No. 2 spot on Billboard 200 albums chart
According to Korea JoongAng Daily, the record is an all-time high record for any K-pop female group, and a significant increase from the group’s last album, Between 1&2 (2022), which earned around 100,000 equivalent album units on the first week in the United States, said JYP Entertainment on Monday.
TWICE released their 12th mini-album Ready To Be on March 10, 2023, with the title track ‘Set Me Free’ and the pre-release single ‘Moonlight Sunrise.’ As the report suggests, the album sold over 650,000 copies in the first week of its release, making it the seventh most-sold female group album in the first week of its release.
The seven-track album opens with the title track ‘Set Me Free’ which is a retro disco number. TWICE’s 12th EP broke their record and sold 500,000 copies. The pre-orders alone surpassed 1.7 million orders. The album is cohesive, experimental and showcases how the next step for TWICE is to be as authentic as possible with their artistry.
Meanwhile, the group will commence its fifth world tour Ready To Be at the KSPO Dome in Songpa District, southern Seoul on April 15 and 16, followed by stadium concerts in Tokyo and Osaka. Following their first concert at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on June 10, TWICE will leave for Oakland, Seattle, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Toronto, New York, and Atlanta.
The group also becomes first K-pop female group to perform at NFL stadiums.
