It would appear that we’re living in the age of epic cameos. When it comes to the highly-anticipated upcoming film Pathaan, this is especially true. The movie not only features three huge stars, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham as a part of the main cast, but is also supposed to include a cameo with Salman Khan in his Tiger avatar from the film franchise Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai.

But, it seems this news can only be confirmed once people actually watch the film because rumours suggest the trailer will not show us whether Salman is in the movie or not.

Per rumours, there are two trailers of which one doesn’t feature Salman

The trailer of Pathaan isn’t out yet, but we have seen two songs and a teaser. However, till the trailer releases tomorrow, most people have no context on what the movie is about.
According to a report in TOI, a source said there are two trailers that were made, one featuring a glimpse of Salman’s cameo, and one without him: “Two trailers have been prepared by Adi [Aditya Chopra]. One of them with Salman, the other without. Adi has not yet decided if he would like to reveal Salman’s cameo in Pathaan in the first trailer. He may decide to withhold the Salman card for closer to the release. On the other hand, Adi may decide not to reveal Salman’s cameo in the trailers at all.”

So, Yash Raj Films’ head Aditya Chopra reportedly had to decide whether to use the one with Salman in it or not.
It appears the makers are taking the ‘Brahmāstra’ route with the trailer

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, a source has revealed that the makers are not going to release the trailer which has Salman in it. Bollywood Hungama quoted the source saying, “While everyone is aware that Salman is a part of Pathaan, they want the audience to visit the cinema halls to see his track in the film. They believe keeping the cameo hidden will create more hype for the film upon its release, as the audience will be taken by surprise with his appearance. He makes an entry when least expected.”

This is pretty similar to what happened in the case of Brahmāstra. Before it was released, movie-goers heard whispers of a Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone appearance in the film, but the trailer betrayed nothing on the subject.
Then, when people saw Shah Rukh’s larger-than-life presence in one of the first scenes itself, it was the most epic surprise. This continued till the movie released on streaming platforms and people noticed that Deepika really was in the film in the sequence featuring Shiva’s mom, where she plays the role of Amrita.
It’s clear that despite so many cameos of Salman and Shah Rukh in each other’s movies, the audience is still eagerly anticipating them coming together in a film even now. We can’t wait to see this epic meeting of Tiger and Pathaan in theatres!
