The comedy-of-age drama did a business of Rs. 136 crores in a budget of Rs. 46 crores. However, the sort of success that people were anticipating before its release wasn’t the case for the film that established itself as a cult film. The Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, hosted the Filmfare Awards back in 2016. While interacting with celebrities, when Shah Rukh went to talk with his Dear Zindagi co-star, Alia Bhatt, the latter told him to change his hosting style. The gorgeous actress told Shah Rukh to look cool, and when he asked Alia to tell him how to look cool, she said something that left everyone shocked. The actress told Shah Rukh to pull his pants down. The suggestion left everyone in splits but a bit awkward too. However, SRK handled the situation with his trademark savage style, as he told Alia that it’s a family show and not everyone’s family is edgy like yours. He said:
“I can’t do that Alia, yeh family show aur saari families tumhari ki tarah edgy nhi hai.”
