South Korean actors Woo Do Hwan and Lee Yoo Mi are currently in talks to lead the new romantic comedy drama Mr. Plankton (literal title) from director Hong Jong Chan.

According to the Korean tabloid Soompi, Mr. Plankton will be a romantic comedy that depicts the story of people who can’t blend in or connect with anyone, just like plankton. The drama will follow the journey of a man who has no other choice but to be a wanderer because no one has ever told him to stay.

On April 14, Woo Do Hwan’s agency KeyEast Entertainment confirmed the reports about the actor receiving an offer and stated, “Woo Do Hwan has received a casting offer for the drama ‘Mr. Plankton’. It’s one of the projects he is currently reviewing.”

The King: Eternal Monarch actor has been offered the leading role of Hae Jo, a man with an empty heart and a bleak existence, yearning for a brighter future that is free from loneliness. Meanwhile, Lee Yoo Mi has been offered to play Jo Jae Mi, who loves Hae Jo and wants to become his family.

The drama comes from writer Cho Yong who previously worked on It’s Okay to Not Be Okay and Jugglers. It will be helmed by director Hong Jong Chan of Link: Eat, Love, Kill, Juvenile Justice, and Life.
