Word of Mouth (WOM) Meter – This meter suggests whether theater-going audiences have accepted a film or not. When a film is released, we collect feedback from audiences who have watched it in theaters.
We ask them to rate the film on a scale of 10, gathering samples from both metros and a few interior towns in India. A Word of Mouth rating on a scale of 10 will be provided for each upcoming film release. If we have enough samples for a new film, we will update it in our section. However, the initial word of mouth for a newly released film may vary each day as more samples are collected. We hope our dear readers appreciate this new initiative and provide us with feedback to enhance the model’s stability in the future.
Notes:
The Word of Mouth (WOM) Meter for a film will only be published if we manage to collect enough samples. If it is not published, it could be due to the film being a washout or some logistic issue from our side.
The WOM Meter will be given on a scale of 10, with decimals rounded to the nearest digit.
The WOM meter will vary for a newly released film, so please wait for 2-3 weeks to get the final rating.
Samples for the WOM meter will be exclusively taken from theater audiences, and no person related to the film industry will be counted.
A film with a good WOM meter may perform poorly at the box office, as we do not consider box office performance in our reporting, and vice versa.
