South Korean actor Yoo Ah In is currently being investigated for using substance Propofol, an anesthetic that is illegal in South Korea. As to Korean tabloid Soompi, on February 8, it was reported that a top Korean actor had undergone police investigation over alleged use of propofol. “Propofol is a sleep inducer and anesthetic and it is illegal in South Korea to use it outside of surgical procedures.”

Additionally, it was reported that the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency called Yoo Ah In for investigating regarding alleged violation of the Narcotics Control Act. According to reports, the actor has been prohibited from leaving the country.

The National Institute of Scientific Investigation has asked to examine the body hair on him to confirm if the propofol usage. In response to such reports, Yoo Ah In’s agency United Artists Agency (UAA) issued an official statement confirming the actor’s investigation.

“This is UAA,” the agency wrote. “Recently, Yoo Ah In underwent police investigation pertaining to propofol. He is actively cooperating in all investigations regarding this and we plan to proactively address the aspects that are a problem. We apologize for causing concern.”

Meanwhile, Yoo Ah In is best known for his roles in features like Secret Affair, Sungkyunkwan Scandal, Six Flying Dragons, Fashion King, Burning and Hellbound.
