1. Times of India –
Rating Score -> 3/5
Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is an enjoyable one-time-watch for the funny punchlines, far-out characters and performances. But the unconvincing story and the temperate screenplay prevent it from reaching its full potential.
2. Indian Express –
Rating Score -> 2/5
Vicky Kaushal, Sara Ali Khan film fails to build on its comic potential. The film is a tonal switch in its second-half, introducing a plot twist doused in mothballed sentimentality, and adding a dreary sanskari layer to the whole thing.
3. DNA –
Rating Score -> 2.5/5
Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is entertaining in parts and frustrating in others. It takes a strong premise and some strong performers but never fully utilises either. The film sags, drags, and crawls towards the end when the melodrama overpowers the narrative, stretching it longer than it should be. But it is watchable, even it largely for Vicky’s performance and the simpleness of the plot.
4. Zoom TV –
Rating Score -> 2.5/5
Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is a fun watch with a lot of punches, and some interesting twists and turns. It could be a no-brainer until it doesn’t feel like one. Though one might notice a few hints hidden, they only come to the fore when we are told what is happening. We suggest the movie is worth a watch if you have a liking for melodramatic love stories.
5. News 18 –
Rating Score -> 3/5
Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is a clean entertainer and doesn’t come off as too preachy. It has family-friendly written all over it and has all the elements of a typical commercial Bollywood entertainer.
6. Rediff –
Rating Score -> 2.5/5
At the end of 132 minutes, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke grants it too when it has had its fill of mush and melodrama. Not so hatke after all, but no reason to stay bachke either.
7. Zee News –
Rating Score -> 3.5/5
The chemistry of Vicky and Sara will take you by surprise, the duo has created something special for everyone. The film deals with marriage, hope, dream, wishes, love and family, and everything that we hold dear. It is a heart-warming family drama which will find its niche audience.
8. India Today –
Rating Score -> 3/5
Sara Ali Khan, Vicky Kaushal’s chemistry is the USP of the film. Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is definitely a must-watch for its funny punchlines and comic timings. Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan’s chemistry is off the charts in the film.
