The comedian-turned-actor Kapil Sharma has won millions of hearts with his comic gigs. Post establishing himself as a comedian, Kapil tried his luck in acting. However, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon (2015) and Firangi (2017) performed badly, though both films belonged to the comedy genre. Now, Kapil has pulled his socks once again and is all set to return to the big screen with Zwigato. The makers dropped the trailer of Zwigato today at a launch event, which was attended by Kapil Sharma. Post the launch, Sharma shared numerous anecdotes while candidly revealing that he used to work as a helper for the Coca-Cola company.

While saying that people often ask him how he went into the skin of the character of a delivery boy, Kapil asserted, “Jab hum Toronto Film Festival mai gaye, tab maine baato baato mai Nandita ma’am se share kiya ki ma’am maine coke company, jo coca cola company hai, us mai as a helper kaam karta tha (When we had attended the Toronto Film Festival, I candidly told Nandita Das that I used to work as a helper for the Coca-Cola company).”
He further added, “Toh uss job mai, iss tarah ki struggle nahi hoti thi. Uss time par apps wagera nahi hoti thi aur ek sales man hotey the jo uss truck ko chalatey bhi the aur unkey sath ek helper hota tha. Uss time par Coke ki demand kaafi thi, naya naya aaya tha 90s’ mai. Toh humey woh problems toh nahi face karni pade, magar haan mehnat bhot hoti thi, of course (Although being a helper was not as challenging as it is for a delivery boy given that at that time apps were not there. But it required the same amount of hard work.)
He concluded by saying, “Toh jab yeh film ki maine script padhi, aur phir Nandita ma’am ne itni research ke sath bataya ki kis tarike se yeh log apna kaam kartey hai, inko kitna per delivery paisa milta hai aur kitna mushkil hai inkey liye. So kahin na kahin woh zindagi maine bade kareeb se dekhi hui hai apney sheher mai. Theek hai samay ke sath cheeze badalti rehti hai. Mere liye shayad itna mushkil nahi tha aur doosri baat yeh hai ki jab aapka captain aapka director khud achhi actor hai toh chaah ke bhi aap overacting nahi kar saktey ho kyunki ye pakad leti hai ussi samay. So mujhe badi help mili aur specially mere co-star Shahana Goswami. Toh ye do log aise the mere aas paas ki you know aapko protect kar ke rakhte hai (So when Nandita narrated the script to me, I knew that I have seen this life closely. In addition, when your director is a good actor, you can’t go overboard. So, my director and co-star always kept me protected.)”
Zwigato is slated to release on March 17.
